Project :

The project consisted in transforming the existing Opera and Philharmonic of Białystok into a new European Center for Music and Art. The unique solutions were able to adapt the older construction with the new, modernistic project.

For the first phase execution of the main building´s structure (with a useful surface area of 9,424 m², constructed area of 6,302 m² and halls with a capacity for 1,000 and 200 seats), the overall formwork supply was planned. Architectural concrete technology was used in most of the project.

The challenge was the execution, in a single phase, of 10 m high walls and 15 m high columns of fair-faced concrete, over which horizontal concrete beams were placed. T-60 towers with a height of 11 m and modular vertical formwork were used in the construction of these beams.

The walls of the main hall, the area with the greatest height of the entire building, were completed in concrete pouring cycles of a 6.6 m height, with the use of 2 x 3.3 m panels of modular formwork. Working platforms and pouring platforms were used at all times, which guaranteed worker safety during the entire construction work.

To support the amphitheater balconies, hollow columns with a diameter of 1.90 m and a height of 4.5 m were built using ENKOFORM V-100, which is able to adapt to any geometry.
