I 95 Route 1 Interchange (Woodrow Wilson Bridge)
VIRGINIA, USA
The original 4 lane bridge, constructed in 1961, was designed to be suitable for 75,000 vehicles per day for the next twenty years. The bridge reached this volume in 8 years, and today three times the forecasted quantity has been reached (200,000 vehicles per day). Improvement works have been performed on the bridge since the 80s.
Nonetheless, the construction of a new bridge is underway to solve the bridge’s bottleneck problems and improve circulation. The new Woodrow Wilson Bridge is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the USA.
ULMA Construcción has participated in the construction of the west accesses and piers.
